On 22 December, 2007 the last phase of the 2500-group project was finalised with the placement of the last five stainless steel tanks. Now the total capacity of this stainless steel tank group adds up to 19,000 cbm. The 2500-tankgroup is part of the 2017-project in which Vopak Vlaardingen plans to upgrade and restructure its terminal to facilitate the market. The next step in the 2017-project will be the 6400-group, the current mild steel tanks will be replaced by new mild steel tanks. The old tanks will be scrapped at the end of January, 2008 and a total of 75,000 cbm mild steel tanks are planned to be in place in Q1, 2009.
